So a couple months ago, I got an e-mail from a dear family friend and old babysitter asking me to do her engagement photos. I was so excited, I didn’t even have to think twice. I knew I would LOVE to shoot their portraits! Megan and Richard met during graduate school at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, V.A. After being friends for awhile, decided they should date, which of course led to Richard proposing to Megan, because honestly, who couldn’t love Megan?

Jerry and I headed up on Memorial Day weekend to have a fun and crazy late afternoon and evening shoot in Norfolk. We shot at Megan and Richard’s old apartment (the coolest apartment ever) in downtown Norfolk and then strolled through the historical neighborhood and waterfront for some extra shots! Megan and Richard are a fun-loving couple and absolutely perfect for one another and these pictures definitely show it!

I love this shallow depth of field, but I love even more you can see Megan’s smile through it.

I love the way Richard is looking at Megan in this photograph. So candid and so loving!

I absolutely love this moment and Megan’s laugh! The whole shoot was full of smiles, laughter and goofy dancing.

Momma knows best! These windows were fabulous to shoot with!

I had too many favorites to pick from! Hope you enjoyed them all!

For Mother’s Day, Shannon Weavil wanted some family pictures, but only she didn’t count on being in family pictures! After some self-debate and coaxing, she joined Greg, her husband, and her two beautiful girls, Haley and Lindsey for a photo shoot around Goldsboro. We got to go to an old rail station in downtown Goldsboro, a missing storefront and a field of bright green wheat! I had a great time shooting this fun family and I think their pictures show that!

This last one is my favorite! I love how candid Lindsey and Haley are in the field. after finally getting used to the camera, they let loose and showed their crazy personalities!
